Disclosure of Interest in Share Capital

On 17 September 2004 the Company received notification by Axa Investment 
Managers UK Limited of 7 Newgate Street, London, EC1A 7NX that, as at, 
16 September 2004 AXA S.A., 25 Avenue Matignon, 75008 Paris and its Group 
Companies were interested in 19,892,598 ordinary 1p shares (representing 8.12% 
of the issued share capital). These ordinary shares are represented by a 
beneficial interest of 15,154,798 ordinary shares (representing 6.19% of 
the issued share capital) and a non-beneficial interest of 4,737,800 
ordinary shares (representing 1.93% of the issued share capital). 
This notification of change is due to an increase in the beneficial 
interest holding from 5.93% t0 6.19%.
