                  Premier Utilities Trust PLC (the 'company')

A notice has been received today from Investec Bank (UK) Limited advising that
Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite Limited and Investec Asset Management Limited, both 
subsidiaries of Investec Holdings (UK) Limited, hold on behalf of private 
clients the following interests in the Ordinary and Zero Dividend Preference 
shares of the Company.

2,319,317 Ordinary shares, representing 12.78% of the Company's issued Ordinary 
share capital, and 5,918,021 Zero Dividend Preference shares, representing 
30.91% of the Company's issued Zero Dividend Preference share capital.

Included in the above holding of Ordinary shares is a holding of 965,000 
Ordinary shares by Invested High Income Trust PLC representing 5.32% of the 
Company's issued Ordinary share capital.
