CSS Stellar Plc ('CSS Stellar')
Re: Directorate
It is with regret and enormous sorrow that the Board has today to report the
death of Barrie Gill, after a courageous battle against cancer.
Barrie Gill founded the CSS business in 1973 and was its Chairman and Chief
Executive until the merger with Stellar in 1999. He has served as a
Non-Executive Director and consultant to CSS Stellar since flotation.
Chairman, John Webber, commented: 'On behalf of the Board, his colleagues within
and without the Group and everyone who has had the pleasure of working with
Barrie over his long career, I would like to extend our sincerest sympathies to
his wife, Sally, and to his sons, Nick and Paul. Barrie was a true character and
a pioneer of the sponsorship industry in this country. His working career
embraced journalism and broadcasting as well as sponsorship consultancy. Barrie
was the founder of the European Sponsorship Consultants Association which he
chaired for seven years between 1990 and 2002.
Barrie Gill will be sorely missed by all'.
