Appointment of Director

The Rank Group Plc announces the appointment of Mr Jerry Fowden,
Managing Director of Rank's Holidays Division since May 1997, as
a Director of the Company with effect from 1st January 2000.  He
will  retain  his  current  responsibilities  for  the  Holidays
Division.

Sir  Denys  Henderson,  Chairman, said 'I  am  very  pleased  to
welcome  Jerry  Fowden  to  Rank's Board.   With  his  extensive
operations  experience  and  marketing  flair  he  will  make  a
valuable contribution to the Board'.
