Rathbone Brothers PLC
24 November 1999
Rathbone Brothers Plc announces that Mark Pearson, a
Director of the Company since September 1996, informed a
Board Meeting today that he will retire on his 57th
Birthday, 1st November 2000. By that time he will have
been with the same company or its predecessors for over
40 years. The Board accepted his retirement with regret.
Since acquiring Neilson Cobbold, Mark has worked hard to
successfully integrate the company into the Group. Mark
began his career with A.S. Milnes & Co in 1960
subsequently becoming Chief Executive of Neilson Milnes
in 1988 who in 1991 acquired most of the ongoing business
of Southampton based Cobbold Roach. Since 1992 and more
recently under the Rathbone umbrella, Neilson Cobbold has
increased its annual turnover from £5.8m to in excess of
£18m.
Mark will continue to play an active role in advising
clients with regard to their investments and supporting
the continuing integration process.
