Rathbones Board Appointments

Mark Pearson will be retiring from the Board of Rathbone Brothers Plc on 31
October 2000 as previously announced on 24 November 1999.

Andrew Morris and Richard Smeeton will be appointed to the Board of Rathbone
Brothers Plc as Executive Directors with effect from 1 November 2000. They will
both continue with their investment management responsibilities and will play a
greater role in the management of the Liverpool and London offices, working with
Main Board Directors, Mark Leather and Richard Lanyon.
