Statement Re: Settlement Of Outstanding Insurance Claims
The Board of Trinity Mirror plc ('Trinity Mirror') is pleased to announce
that, following the conclusion of a mediation process, it has settled certain
insurance claims by Mirror Group companies. As a result of that settlement the
Group has received a cash sum of £18.2 million.
The settlements relate to claims against various providers of fidelity
insurance for Mirror Group companies between 1989 and 1991. Fidelity
insurance deals with the misappropriation of assets and funds by Group
employees.
The Board of Trinity Mirror notes with great satisfaction that the Trustees of
the Mirror Group Pension Scheme have also achieved a settlement. The Trustees
will be notifying members of the scheme the details of the settlement.
