The businesses sold in recent months are as follows Various minor household brands in Australia and New Zealand including Janola, Aura, Bluo, Longlife and Scotts. Australasian personal care brand Soft as Soap sold to Colgate. European Plant Care business, primarily in Italy and Switzerland under the Gesal brand Savoderm, a small Austrian personal care business These transactions bring the disposals to date, including Scrub Free and Delicare in 1999, Fatty Acids, Epilim and Australasian Personal Care earlier in 2000, to £90m of total net revenues sold producing marginal contribution of almost £18m. Proceeds from the program to date amount to over £100m. Commenting on these disposals, Bart Becht, Chief Executive Officer, said 'With these latest disposals we are nearing our goal of selling half of the tail of non-core, non-strategic businesses, a key commitment when we merged to create Reckitt Benckiser. We believe selling them is positive, despite the modest earnings dilution, as it allows substantially greater focus on our core business, and results in a much stronger, growth-oriented brand portfolio. We still have further disposals under consideration, and remain optimistic that we will reach our target shortly.'
