Appointment of Non-executive Director

Red Rock Resources plc ('Red Rock' or the 'Company') the mineral exploration and
development company focussed on advancing iron ore, uranium and manganese
projects in Western Australia and in Tasmania announced today the appointment of
Robert Weicker as a non-executive director of the Company on 9 January 2006.
Mr. Weicker, aged 52, has an Honours Degree in Earth Science from the University
of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada, and is a Professional Geoscientist of the
Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
Mr. Weicker has over 25 years in the mineral exploration and mining industry,
from greenfield exploration to production operations. His early career included
serving as a Geologist to several Noranda Mines Group companies. Mr. Weicker
joined Lac Minerals in 1984, and in 1988 was appointed Chief Geologist at the
Williams mine, the largest gold mine in Canada. In 1989 he assumed the role of
Chief Mining Geologist for Equinox Resources Ltd., and was involved with the
start-up, development, and production of the Van Stone zinc mine in Washington;
exploration and development of the Rosebud UG gold mines in Nevada, and direct
supervision of a multimillion-dollar development program on a polymetallic
deposit in British Columbia, resulting in a significant expansion of reserves
and the discovery of the Yellow Jacket zinc deposit.
Mr. Weicker was a senior participant in the merger and corporate consolidation
of three junior companies (Newhawk Gold Mines Ltd., Equinox Resources Ltd., and
Eastmaque Gold Mines Ltd.) resulting in significant shareholder appreciation.
Mr. Weicker is a director of several junior Canadian companies, and familiar
with the regulatory and exchange requirements of the TSX-Venture and TSE. He is
also familiar with coal and CBM (coal bed methane) projects in Canada and
internationally. Mr Weicker has completed and/or co-authored pre-feasibility
studies, feasibility studies, assessment reports, valuation reports, 43-101
reports (both domestic and internationally) and technical reports and reviews
for submittal to the TSX-Venture and AIM exchanges.
Since 1999, Mr. Weicker has developed his own consulting company, with a focus
on Asia, Mongolia and Nevada. Mr. Weicker will assist with the Red Rock
exploration activities and resource acquisition.
His appointment as a director is intended to strengthen the company's
exploration capabilities internationally and in particular to give it access to
in-house uranium expertise.
Robert Weicker has an interest in 800,000 ordinary shares of £0.001 issued at
£0.001and allotted as part of the consideration for the purchase of prospective
uranium properties in Malawi announced on 28th December 2005.
