Renold plc announces that it is appointing Tony Brown, presently Managing
Director Chain Division, as Business Development Director for the Group,
effective 22 November 2004. This is a new role on the Renold Board.

Pending the appointment of a replacement Managing Director Chain Division, the
Chief Executive, Robert Davies, will act in this role.
