Appointment of non-executive Director
The Restaurant Group plc today announces the appointment of David Richardson to
its Board as a non-executive Director with effect from 1 February 2007. He will
also be a member of the Remuneration, Audit and Nomination Committees.
David (55), having retired as Whitbread's Finance Director in 2005, is currently
a non-executive director of Serco Group plc, Dairy Crest plc, Tomkins plc and
Forth Ports plc. He was also until recently a non-executive director of De Vere
Group plc and took on the Chairman's role to consider a number of bid approaches
and its ultimate highly successful sale to AHG in the summer of 2006.
David spent a considerable part of his career at Whitbread (he joined in 1983)
in various roles including Finance Director of their Inns Division and following
that the Restaurant Division. Between 1993 and 2001 he was Strategic Planning
Director for the Group and joined the Board in May 1996. He was appointed
Finance Director in March 2001.
There are no other matters relating to this appointment that are required to be
disclosed under Paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules.
