Board Appointment
Ricardo plc, one of the world's foremost independent automotive consultancies,
announces the appointment of Michael Harper as a non-executive director with
effect from 24 June 2003.
Michael Harper, 58, is Chief Executive of Kidde plc, a leading global supplier
of fire and safety products, systems and services. An engineer by training, he
joined Kidde Group in 1984 following a career with Vickers plc. On the
acquisition of Kidde by Williams PLC in 1988, he became Divisional Managing
Director of Kidde International and was appointed to the Board of Williams PLC
in 1999. On the demerger of Kidde from Williams PLC in 2000, he ceased to be a
director of Williams PLC and became Chief Executive of Kidde plc. He is also a
director of Baxi Group limited and a non-executive director of UMECO plc.
There are no details regarding Mr. Harper that require disclosure under section
6. F. 2 (b) to (g) referred to in paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules.
