Ricardo PLC
03 December 2003
Ricardo plc
In November 2002, Ricardo reported that it had received a claim relating to work
performed for a non-automotive client seven years earlier. In response to
today's article in the Financial Times, Ricardo confirms that the claim was
received from a business, which is part of the Rolls Royce group. Ricardo also
confirms that on 2 December 2003, the High Court dismissed the claim from Rolls
Royce but Ricardo notes that this could still be subject to appeal.
As this case could still be subject to appeal the directors are of the view that
the contingent liability note, as disclosed in the 2003 Annual Report & Accounts
remains valid. However, the directors remain of the opinion that the claim will
be successfully defended and accordingly no provision has been made in respect
of the matter.
