                         ROC OIL COMPANY LIMITED ('ROC')

                             STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE

                   ROC'S NET EFFECTIVE OIL PRODUCTION EXCEEDS
                         14,000 BARRELS OF OIL PER DAY(1)


During the past week ROC's net effective oil production reached ca 14,100
barrels of oil per day(1), a record for the Company by a considerable margin.
This performance reflects production in Mauritania and record production levels
in Australia and China.

Commenting on the Company's current production, ROC's Chief Executive Officer,
John Doran, stated that:

'This is one of ROC's shortest Stock Exchange releases, but it is also one of
the most significant, particularly in view of the current oil price, and the
fact that five months ago ROC's oil production was negligible.'




(1) Net production rate is calculated on a working interest basis and includes
production from offshore China which relates to a recently announced acquisition
expected to close during the next month or two with an effective date of 1 July
2006.
