NewMedia SPARK
INVESTS £1M IN 2BET LIMITED.
NewMedia SPARK plc ('SPARK') announces that it has agreed to
invest £1m (one million pounds) for a 30% stake in 2bet
Limited ('2bet'). 2bet was founded by Garry and Jamie
Morrill, whose family has had over thirty years experience
within the betting industry. Over the last year the company
has worked very closely with IMM Studios, one of Londons
leading technology houses to develop a leading edge betting
system that is robust, flexible and can be delivered across
all digital media. The Company will use the funds to
complete and launch its service in the UK.
Commenting on the investment Mike Whitaker, CEO of SPARK,
said:
'We are pleased to be investing in 2bet Limited and believe
that they and IMM have created a technically advanced and
innovative betting system. The use of Java technologies and
the architectural design of the system will allow the team
to develop new gaming business models and exciting ways for
consumers to gamble online. The management team has
extensive experience in the gaming industry and IMMs
experience with clients such as Volkswagen and Football365
has meant the site is both intuitive and fully scaleable.
We hope to add a number of strategic alliances and develop
one of the leading online gaming businesses.'
2bet Limited is the nineteenth investment by NewMedia SPARK
since its shares began trading on the Alternative Investment
Market on 28th October 1999.
