NewMedia SPARK takes a 5% stake in Skillvest.com
NewMedia Spark plc ('SPARK') announces that it has agreed
to take a 5% equity stake in Skillvest.com. Skillvest is
a business to business internet start up which will
create an online market for professional training
services. The site will go live early in the New Year and
will allow established suppliers of training products to
distribute their services online. Companies using
Skillvest will be able to efficiently match these
products and services to their specific training needs
and, over time, measure their effectiveness. The company
was founded with Bainlab and other investors include Zouk
Ventures and AMP.
Commenting on the investment Andrew Carruthers, CEO of
SPARK, said:
'Skillvest is a great example of the internet building
value for both suppliers and purchasers of training
services in what is otherwise a very fragmented market.
We are delighted to be supporting this team with a strong
proposition for the business to business sector.'
Skillvest.com is the fifth investment by NewMedia Spark
since its shares began trading on the Alternative
Investment Market on 28th October 1999. The price paid
for this investment cannot be disclosed for commercial
reasons. Its four previous investments were in Digital
Animations Group plc, Bridge4u.com, Linkguard and
easier!.
