Reduction of Share Premium Account
NewMedia SPARK plc ('SPARK') announces that it received confirmation from the
Registrar of Companies on 20 October 2004 of the registration of the Court Order
confirming the reduction of SPARK's share premium account as approved by SPARK's
shareholders at the annual general meeting held on 16 September 2004 ('AGM').
After the release of SPARK's interim results which is expected to be in early
December 2004, SPARK will be able to buy-back up to 47,198,573 ordinary shares
in accordance with the authority granted at the AGM, subject to the discretion
of the Board and market conditions at the time.
