Notice of Results and Investment Update

Gresham House Strategic plc ('GHS") announces that the interim results for the six months ended 30 September will be announced on 11 December 2015. 

As announced in August 2015, GHS adopted a new investment policy focussed on executing a Strategic Public Equity strategy. GHS is managed by Gresham House Asset Management Ltd, as the recently appointed investment manager.  

Since then, GHS has been actively engaged with both existing and prospective investment opportunities and has recently made two further investments, acquiring an initial 1.8% shareholding in The Quarto Group Inc. and a 6.1% shareholding in Be Heard Group plc. Both investments have been made with the intention of working with the management teams in growing their businesses over the long-term both organically and through acquisition in line with the Strategic Public Equity mandate.

The Quarto Group Inc. (LSE:QRT) is a leading niche publisher with potential to significantly increase its share of publishing through earnings enhancing acquisitions. Under CEO Marcus Leaver, the business has delivered improvements through restructuring and has the potential to realise further efficiency gains.  There are also plans to acquire smaller niche operators at attractive multiples and to deliver growth by leveraging the distribution and purchasing base of a larger business whilst driving operational improvement. The business generates a high proportion of its revenues from its backlist of titles and aims to reduce its debt through strong cash generation. 

Be Heard Group plc (AIM:BHRD) is a digital marketing company with a plan to grow through acquisition, building a leading network of digital businesses focused on marketing services, data analytics and e-commerce sectors.  GHS is backing a proven management team with strong track records of value creation in the sector having founded, developed and sold a number of well-known integrated marketing services and advertising businesses.   Their plan is to acquire best in class digital businesses delivering services such as; social media, digital strategy, data analytics, insight and media planning, CRM and e-commerce and creative content, and to support their growth within a larger network. Further benefit is expected from the consolidation of core operational and finance functions as the group develops.
