Purchase of own shares


NewMedia SPARK plc (the 'Company')


The Company announces that on 10th January it purchased 7,550,000 of its
Ordinary Shares of 2.5p at a price of 12.25p per share.


These shares will be held in Treasury.


This purchase equates to 1.69% of the Company's issued share capital.


Following this purchase the Company has 472,735,729 Ordinary shares in issue of
which 26,050,000 are now held as Treasury shares.
