Rotork PLC 08 September 2004 Embargoed until 12:30 8th September 2004 DIRECTORATE CHANGES Rotork p.l.c, the specialist engineering company, today announces that George Malcolm, who is currently the Operations Director responsible for production, will retire on 8 April 2005. Mr. Malcolm joined Rotork as Engineering Director of Rotork Actuation in 1984 and was instrumental in initiating the development work which led to the production of the world's first non-intrusive actuator, the Rotork IQ. The Rotork p.l.c. Board wishes to express its sincere thanks to Mr. Malcolm for his substantial contribution to Rotork's success over the past 20 years and offers its very best wishes for his retirement. Dr. Graham Ogden, Rotork's Actuation Research and Development Director, will be appointed to the Board of Rotork p.l.c. from 1st January 2005 as an executive Director. Dr. Ogden joined Rotork in 1985 and has been a member of Rotork's Executive Board since 1997. He led the development of the Company's current non-intrusive electric actuator, the IQ2, launched in 2001 and the Company's latest new product, the IQT quarter-turn electric actuator launched in 2003. As the leading worldwide innovator in electric valve automation, Dr. Ogden will continue to be responsible for product development within the Rotork group. Dr. Ogden has a Doctorate in electronic engineering from Bristol University which followed a first class honours degree in electronic engineering, also attained from Bristol.
