       Electrocomponents Management meeting with Investors and Analysts

                        on the 21 March 2001 at 5.00pm


Electrocomponents announces that it is holding a meeting with its major
investors and analysts this evening. The purpose is to review progress on the
implementation of the Group's Strategy through presentations by
representatives of the management team. This will also provide the opportunity
for the depth of the Group's management to be appreciated.

The presentations will cover material largely in the public domain and no
price sensitive information will be released. The presentations will be made
available on the corporate website (www.electrocomponents.com) for other
interested parties.

Electrocomponents currently anticipates that its results for the year ended 31
March 2001 will be in line with the forecasts made by analysts.

The Preliminary Announcement of these results is expected to be made on 30 May
2001.
