ATA Group PLC 24 September 2007 ATA Group plc Appointment of a Chief Executive Officer ATA Group Plc ('ATA') is a human resource support services group, which provides employment solutions and training services to client companies in the United Kingdom and overseas. ATA Group Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Pendlebury as a Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1st October 2007. Andy joined ATA Group Plc as a non-executive Director in June of this year and has already demonstrated his in-depth knowledge of Support Service industry businesses. He brings with him a wealth of Industry experience having held a number of senior management positions during his long career with British Aerospace Plc. In 1992 he joined the Board of Wynnwith Engineering and was appointed Managing Director in 1995 establishing the business as one of the United Kingdom's fastest growing recruitment businesses. In 2002 Andy joined GKN Plc as interim Managing Director of the company's in-house recruitment business Engage and guided it through the Board's divestment strategy. From 2004 to 2007 he has, as Chief Executive, engineered a trading turnaround and subsequent sale to the Morson Group of White & Nunn Holdings. Andy is a member of the Institute of Management and a member of the Institute of Directors, attended Manchester University through to post graduate and studied at Cranfield Business School and London Business School gaining qualifications in Business Negotiation, Management Studies and Strategy formulation. Also with effect from 1st October 2007, Andrew Bailey, Group Managing Director, will change his role to that of Chief Operating Officer, focusing on the delivery of optimal performance from present Group Businesses and the integration of new enterprises which may join the Group following success in the ongoing search for carefully selected acquisitions. From that date the Group Board will consist of Bill Douie, Group Chairman, Andy Pendlebury, Chief Executive Officer and Andrew Bailey, Chief Operating Officer, supported by Mark Kendall, Group Financial Controller and Company Secretary. Bill Douie, Chairman of ATA Group Plc commented 'Having completed phase one of the Group Recovery Plan and returned to material and growing profitability, the time is right to engage in a drive for expansion. As this is expected to involve development of present businesses, organic start-ups and acquisitions, the existing team urgently required an infusion of proven talent and experience.
