While others including Lufthansa talk about setting up low fare airlines in Germany Ryanair just gets on with the job. Only eight months ago, we established our first German base with three aircraft and eight routes. Such has been the enormous success of these routes and the widespread acceptance of Ryanair's low fares service by German passengers that less than one year into its existence, we are expanding in Germany by over 60%, by basing two extra aircraft. 'Ryanair's success is based on incomparable customer service in terms of low fares, punctuality and friendly onboard service. This service has been greeted with record traffic here in Germany and we are delighted to offer more choice, more destinations and above all lower fares to many more millions of people who will fly through this airport during the coming years. 'We already carried over 1 million passengers this year and are set to carry in excess of 2.5 million next year, making Frankfurt-Hahn Germany's fastest growing airport. Together with the excellent management here at the airport, Ryanair is set to make Frankfurt-Hahn not alone the leading low fares airport in Germany, but position it firmly among the top ten passenger airports in the country. We acknowledge the very significant contribution by both Fraport and the Government of Rheinland Palatinate, both shareholders in the airport, in making this project the success that it is. They and we share the same common goal, to bring competition and choice to air travel into and out of Germany and to reap the massive benefits to the airport and the surrounding region.' Lufthansa has tried to prevent Ryanair from comparing its services from Frankfurt-Hahn with Lufthansa's services from Frankfurt-Main by forcing Ryanair to point out the following 'disadvantages' of Frankfurt-Hahn Airport: Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is located approximately 124 km west of Frankfurt City in the Hunsrueck region. The airport is not connected to the public transportation system (however, it is served by a regular bus shuttle from Frankfurt-Main central station). The airport is accessible to the Autobahn via the B50. Ryanair does not offer connecting flights, and there are no other connecting flights at the airport. A bus schedule and directions to the airport are available at www.Ryanair.com. However, despite these 'disadvantages' over 2 million passengers have used Frankfurt-Hahn Airport without problems finding or accessing the airport.
