J Sainsbury plc announces Board Changes
J Sainsbury plc announces today that June de Moller has indicated her intention
to retire from the Board in September 2005 when she will have completed two
three-year terms as a non-executive director.
Sainsbury's also announces that Bridget Macaskill has indicated her intention to
retire from the Board. In order to ensure continuity and succession planning
Bridget has agreed to remain on the Board for a further year and will be putting
herself forward for re-election at the company's AGM on July 13th 2005 on this
basis. Bridget joined the Board in February 2002.

• June de Moller was appointed to the Board on 23 September 1999.
• As previously announced, Roger Matthews, Finance Director, will retire
from the Board on 24 June 2005.
