The Company has pleasure in notifying the Stock Exchange that Mr John Duncan
Sach, formerly the Group Financial Controller, has been appointed to the Board
of Walker Greenbank PLC as Group Finance Director, with effect from 7th
September, 1999.

Mr Sach, 43, has been with Walker Greenbank since February 1992 and has many
years experience in various previous finance positions before joining the
Company.
