APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR
Schroder AsiaPacific Fund plc is pleased to announce that on 17 February 2000 Mr
Robert Binyon was appointed as a Director of the Company.
Mr Binyon was born in 1951. He is a graduate of Christ Church, Oxford where he
read Modern History. Mr Binyon is Managing Director of CDC Investments,
responsible for the management of CDC Group plc's country and regional funds,
raising of third party capital and investment in banks and financial
intermediaries, with responsibilities for corporate finance and compliance
functions. CDC Group plc is a leading private equity investor in growing
independent businesses in over 50 emerging and pre-emerging markets worldwide.
Currently 100% owned by the Department for International Development, its
portfolio consists of US$2.4 billion directly invested in over 400 businesses in
54 countries.
Mr Binyon's was Managing Director and Joint Chief Executive of Tokai Bank Europe
between 1991 and 1994, and between 1972 and 1991 he held various positions with
Morgan Grenfell, including Managing Director for Asia.
