Board responsibilities change

Schroders plc announces that Jonathan Asquith and Massimo Tosato, who are both
directors of the Company, have each been appointed Vice Chairman with effect
from 24th April.  Mr. Asquith will add responsibility for fixed income to his
existing responsibilities for property, private equity and the Group's
investment capital.  Mr. Tosato continues to be responsible for the
institutional and retail distribution and NewFinance Capital.  Alan Brown, also
a director of Schroders plc, becomes Group Chief Investment Officer.



Stephen Brooks, currently Head of Group Finance, takes over from Mr. Asquith as
Chief Financial Officer and will join the Group Management Committee, reporting
to Michael Dobson, Chief Executive.
