The Board of Schroders plc are pleased to announce that Jonathan Asquith,
whose proposed appointment was announced on 22nd November 2001, has today been
appointed a Director of Schroders plc.
Biographical details of Mr Asquith are attached.

Jonathan Paul Asquith
Born 28th September 1956, British
Jonathan Asquith was educated at Eton College and Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
He joined Morgan Grenfell in 1979 in the Latin American department and
subsequently worked in the Project Advisory and Derivatives department. In
1988 he was appointed Head of Derivatives; in 1990 Deputy Head of Treasury and
from October 1992 to June 1995 was Group Finance Director. In July 1995 he was
appointed Chief Financial Officer of Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, and was
appointed Chief Operating Officer in 1997. He left in November 1997 and took a
career break.
He became a Managing Partner of European Digital Partners Limited in March
2000. In July 2001 he joined Barclays Private Bank Limited as Chief Executive
Officer and Head of UK Private Banking.
