New Appointments at Schroders
Richard Horlick To Join Schroders As Global Head of Institutional Business
Mark Pignatelli Appointed Chief Investment Officer
Schroders plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Horlick as
Global Head of Institutional Business, reporting to Michael Dobson, Chief
Executive. He is currently President and Chief Executive of Fidelity Management
and Trust Company in Boston and head of Fidelity's US institutional business. He
will be a member of the Group Management Committee and will join the Board of
Schroders plc.
Schroders plc also announces the appointment of Mark Pignatelli as Chief
Investment Officer. In this role Mark, who was previously Head of Pan European
Equities, will assume responsibility for the oversight and development of the
firm's investment philosophy and process globally.
Michael Dobson said 'As can be seen from our interim results, Schroders is
beginning to make real progress in investment performance and business
efficiency. These key appointments will continue this progress and reinforce the
characteristics of the firm we want to build for the future; a modern,
independent, global asset management firm supported by a strong investment

Biographical Details
Richard Horlick
Richard was educated at Harrow and Cambridge after which he joined the corporate
finance division of Samuel Montagu where he spent three years before joining
Stewart Newton, then at Reed Stenhouse. He left Newton at the time of the link
up with Royal Bank of Scotland, joining Fidelity in 1994.
Based in London, Richard was President of Fidelity's global institutional
business outside the United States. In 2001 he was appointed President and Chief
Executive of Fidelity Management and Trust Company in Boston and head of
Fidelity's US institutional business.
Mark Pignatelli
Mark Pignatelli was educated at The London School of Economics. His investment
career commenced in 1987, when he joined Baring Asset Management (BAM). Mark
became Head of European Equities in 1995, and he remained at BAM until January
2000, at which time he joined Schroders plc. Prior to his appointment as CIO,
Mark was Head of Pan-European Equities.
