Appointment of Non-executive Director

Schroders plc today announces that Ian King, Chief Executive of BAE Systems plc, will join Schroders plc's Board and Nominations Committee with effect from 1st January 2017.

Michael Dobson, Chairman of Schroders plc said: "We are delighted to welcome Ian to the Board.  Ian brings considerable experience in leadership positions in major multi-national companies which will be of great value to us as we continue to grow our business internationally."

Ian King (60). Ian is Chief Executive of BAE Systems plc.  He was appointed to the BAE Board in 2007 as Chief Operating Officer, UK and Rest of the World. He was previously Group Managing Director of BAE's Customer Solutions & Support business and, prior to that, Group Strategy and Planning Director. Prior to the BAE/MES merger, he was Chief Executive of Alenia Marconi Systems, having previously served as Finance Director of Marconi Electronic Systems.  He served as a non-executive director of Rotork plc until June 2014.
