we hereby inform you that the Company has today been notified by Harris
Associates L.P. that following the purchase of 1,350,000 ordinary shares of
Schroders plc on 28 November 2006, accounts managed by Harris Associates L.P.
became the beneficial owners of 13,945,923 ordinary shares, representing 6.17%
of the issued ordinary share capital of Schroders plc.
