The Scottish Oriental Smaller Companies Trust plc ("the Company") announces that it is satisfied that all inside information which the Directors and the Company may have to 31 August 2016 has previously been notified via a regulatory information service.

The mandatory closed period under the Market Abuse Regulation will commence 30 days prior to the publishing of the annual results to 31 August 2016.  It is anticipated that the closed period will commence on 11 September 2016 until the annual results are published in October 2016.
