Appointment of Non-Executive Chair Designate

ScS, one of the UK's largest retailers of upholstered furniture and floorings, is pleased to announce that John Walden will join the Board as Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 March 2023.

On joining, John will be Non-Executive Chair Designate and the intention is that he will become Non-Executive Chair of the Group on 30 November 2023 when Alan Smith retires.

John is currently Non-Executive Chair of Motorpoint plc and SnowFox Topco Ltd, the Guernsey topco responsible for Yo Sushi and other sushi related business in the UK and North America. John has held a number of senior roles including Chair of Naked Wines and Chair of Holland & Barrett International. John was previously Executive Director at FTD Companies and CEO of Argos and its parent company Home Retail Group plc. Prior to this he held several senior roles with Best Buy Co. including Executive Vice President and President of the internet division.

Alan Smith, Non-Executive Chairman of ScS, commented:

Commenting on his appointment, John Walden said:

Pursuant to LR 9.6.13R in respect of John Walden; John Walden has no beneficial interests in the ordinary shares of the Group. He is currently Non-Executive Chair of Motorpoint plc.

John has held the following directorships in other publicly quoted companies in the previous five years.

· Home Retail Group plc

· FTD Companies, Inc.

John was a director of FTD Companies, Inc. which made a bankruptcy filing under Chapter 11 in June 2019. John departed from the board of FTD Companies, Inc. in July 2018.

ScS is one of the UK's largest retailers of upholstered furniture and flooring, promoting itself as the "Sofa Carpet Specialist", seeking to offer value and choice through a wide range of upholstered furniture and flooring products. The Group's product range is designed to appeal to a broad customer base with a mid-market priced offering and is currently traded from 98 stores.

The Group's upholstered furniture business specialises primarily in fabric and leather sofas and chairs.
