Senior appointments at Sondex
Sondex has appointed Dr Peter Collins, its Operations Director, as Managing
Director of Sondex Wireline, the main operating company within the oilfield
technology group.
Dr Collins, aged 40, joined the Sondex board in May 2003 from PII Limited, a
leading provider of oil and gas pipeline inspection, where he was group
Technical Director. He will remain as Executive Operations Director responsible
for the Sondex group's production, health and safety, and human resources
activities.
At the same time it is announced that Roy Martin has been appointed
International Sales Manager. Mr Martin, aged 47, has joined Sondex from Al
Mansoori Specialized Engineering LLC where he was North Africa Manager. He has
23 years of international oilfield experience with Schlumberger and other
service companies.
Anika Ephraim, aged 33, has been appointed Marketing Engineer for the group.
Miss Ephraim was previously a Field Services Manager with Schlumberger. Jonathan
Hawkins, aged 45, has been appointed as Quality Manager for the group. Mr
Hawkins was previously Quality Manager with Blease Medical.
The appointments coincide with a period of significant expansion for the
Hampshire based group, floated on the London Stock Exchange in June 2003. Sondex
recently completed the £31.5 million acquisition of Geolink International, the
Scotland-based specialist designer, manufacturer and supplier of Measurement
While Drilling (MWD) and Logging While Drilling (LWD) downhole technology. In
December, Sondex acquired Computer Sonics Systems Inc ("CSS"), a designer and
manufacturer of wireline logging equipment based in Calgary, Canada.
Sondex now has operations in the USA, Canada, South America, China, the Middle
East and Australia. In addition to the "at bit" drilling sensors, its suite of
sophisticated tools includes specialist logging equipment, casing inspection
systems for economically extending the life of wells, data-acquisition systems,
electric cutters, and electric tractors for the deployment of downhole logging
tools in highly deviated and horizontal wells. The electro-mechanical equipment
is generally used by international and regional oilfield service companies on
behalf of virtually every major oil and gas company.
