SLOUGH ESTATES PLC ANNOUNCES NIGEL RICH AS CHAIRMAN DESIGNATE
International property group, Slough Estates plc, is pleased to announce that
Nigel Rich will be joining the Board as a non-executive director and Chairman
Designate on 1st July 2006. He will become Chairman on 1st October 2006, at
which point the current Chairman Paul Orchard-Lisle will retire from the Board.
Paul Orchard-Lisle said: 'I am delighted that Nigel Rich will be joining the
Board and that he will succeed me as Chairman of the company. It is good news
that as Slough Estates enters the next exciting phase in its development it will
be chaired by a businessman with Nigel's breadth and depth of experience, both
in the UK and internationally.'
Nigel Rich said: 'Slough Estates is an excellent company - it has a strong
portfolio of prime assets and real growth potential - driven by its development
pipeline and its ability to add value through the intense management of its
assets. I am very pleased to be joining the Board at this important time.'
In 2005 Nigel Rich stepped down from the Chairmanships of Exel and of the
Hamptons Group. He is currently a non-executive director of KGR Absolute Return
PCC and of Pacific Assets Trust. Previously senior executive roles included; CEO
of Trafalgar House, MD of Jardine Matheson and MD of Hongkong Land. Nigel Rich
is 60.

Biographical note for Nigel Rich:
Nigel Rich is an experienced and highly regarded Chairman. Until December 2005
he was Chairman of Exel, the £6 billion turnover FTSE 100 company which employed
over 120,000 people. He left Exel following its takeover by Deutsche Post. He
has extensive property experience through his time at Hongkong Land and
Hamptons.
