Executive Appointments
SERABI MINING plc ("Serabi" or "the Company)
APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE & SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES
Serabi has completed the transition from exploration to production,
with the prospect of continuing growth. To reflect this change and
to further enhance the management team, the Board is pleased to
announce the following changes and appointments:
* Mr. Michael Hodgson, currently Technical Director, has been
appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer, to lead the
Company in its goal towards becoming a mid-tier producer
* Mr Bill Clough, the current Chief Executive and co-founder of the
Company, will assume the role of Executive Director, working on
project generation and new business development
* Mr Wanderlan Almeida, has been appointed to the position of
Managing Director of the Company's Brazilian subsidiary, Serabi
Mineraçao Ltda, with executive responsibility for directing all
matters relating to the group's Brazilian operations
* Mr Sérgio Aquino, presently Country Manager of Serabi Mineraçao
Ltda and co-founder of the Company, will become senior
consultant, providing strategic guidance to senior management and
the Board
Commenting on these appointments, Graham Roberts, the Chairman of
Serabi said:
"We recently highlighted Serabi's strategic plans for the Next Move,
which is intended to position the Company for growth towards becoming
a mid-tier producer. These appointments are intended to assist in
achieving this goal, as well as strengthen the management team.
Since his initial appointment as Technical Director, Mike Hodgson has
already introduced many positive developments in our operations and,
furthermore, in this role has become fully acquainted with all
aspects of the Company. Mike now takes over as Chief Executive from
Bill Clough, who has steered Serabi through its formative years of
exploration and development. As the Company now seeks to grow its
resource and production base more aggressively, these Board changes
are regarded as essential in providing greater operational and
development experience and focus.
The appointment of Wanderlan Almeida as Managing Director of our
Brazilian subsidiary reflects similar thinking. Wanderlan brings to
Serabi considerable hands-on experience in building and managing
mining operations in Brazil and will enhance the skills required to
lead Serabi towards its growth targets.
Meanwhile, we are fortunate that the co-founders Bill and Sérgio,
will remain with the group to contribute their unique experience and
understanding of operating in the Tapajos. These key appointments
and others over the past year provide the skills and experience for
Serabi to successfully achieve the Next Move growth strategy. "

Notes to Editors
The Tapajos region of northern Brazil encompasses an area of
approximately 100,000 Km2, mainly located in the south-west Para
State. It has a significant history of alluvial gold production with
estimated output of some 30 million ounces having been recovered,

Present in the Tapajos since 1999, Serabi has established the only
'hard rock' mine in the region to date at its Palito gold mine, which
produced 39,197 ounces of gold equivalent in 2006 from underground
mining of high-grade, gold/copper mineralisation.
Serabi has a significant exploration programme focused on the Tapajos
region, owns and operates four surface drilling rigs and has its own
assay laboratory.
