Severfield Rowen plc ('the Company') was informed on 2 February 2005 that on
that day Peter Emerson, executive director, sold 22,089 ordinary shares in the
Company at 555p per share.

The Company was also informed on the 2 February 2005 that on that day Peter
Emerson's pension fund acquired 22,089 ordinary shares in the Company at 555p
per share.

Following these transactions Mr Emerson's beneficial interest remains unchanged
at 22,089 ordinary shares, representing 0.1% of the issued share capital of the
Company.
