The SGS Group posted a strong first semester performance with revenue growth of 15.1% over prior year to CHF 2.7 billion (constant currency basis), reflecting both organic revenue growth of 11.1% and the integration of twenty four recently acquired companies contributing an additional 4.0% in revenues. Adjusted operating income, up 12.2% over prior year on a constant currency basis, reached CHF 413 million, resulting in a margin of 15.6%. This was slightly down from 16.0% in prior year as the Group continues its investment programme towards the achievement of the 2014 plan. Restructuring activities including permanent headcount reductions during the semester resulted in a one-off expense of CHF 26 million. Net Profit for the period reached CHF 245 million, slightly above prior year (2011: CHF 241 million on a constant currency basis). During the semester, net capital investments amounted to CHF 176 million and the Group completed seven acquisitions for a total cash outflow of CHF 100 million. The Group confirms solid top line growth and improved operating results for the full year on a constant currency basis.
