SCOTT WILSON APPOINTED BY CROSSRAIL FOR FARRINGDON STATION
Scott Wilson Group plc ("Scott Wilson" or "the Group"), the international design and engineering consultancy for the built and natural environments, is pleased to announce that Crossrail has confirmed its intention to award Design Package C136 for Farringdon Station on the Central Section Framework and are proceeding to contract.
The contract to Scott Wilson is £9.6 million over two and a half years. This contract is in addition to the existing work already undertaken for Crossrail on the Westbourne Park - worth up to £1.5 million and awarded in April - and the Crossrail On Network Works for Network Rail - worth £9.8 million and awarded in October 2008.
Hugh Blackwood, Group Chief Executive, comments, "We are delighted to have secured this first major package on the Central Section Framework and to continue our role on what will be Europe's largest rail project. Our relationship with Crossrail dates back a number of years and we are looking forward to a strong and continued association. Our strategy of developing our metro capability includes the previously announced acquisitions of Terence Lee Partnership and Benaim which formed a key part of this success."
