Scott Wilson Pre-Close Statement
Scott Wilson Group plc ("Scott Wilson" or "the Group"), the global integrated design and engineering consultancy for the built and natural environments, today issues a pre-close statement prior to the announcement of its preliminary results for the year ended 2 May 2010 on 29 June 2010.
Overall, the Group's position remains unchanged from that stated in our Interim Management Statement of 9 March 2010 and the underlying business performance has remained consistent with current market expectations. In addition, the performance of our joint ventures will be ahead of previous indications. Cash collection in the second half of the year has been strong and we expect to report a significantly reduced level of borrowings at the year end.
Our international business continues to show strong organic growth driven by significant new project wins which include:
Brazil: Bamin Breakwater Study
China: Tianjin Dongli Lake Landscape Design
Hong Kong: MTR Shatin to Central Link
Kazakhstan: Almaty - Khorgos Road Concession
Syria: Marine Infrastructure at Lattakia
Turkey: Izmit Bay Crossing
USA: Roca Honda Uranium Project
In the UK, we have seen successful project commissions such as the Manchester Town Hall Transformation Programme, the A5 and A8 road schemes in Northern Ireland, Lochaber hydropower refurbishment and ongoing design services for Sellafield nuclear decomissioning projects.
We were delighted to receive the Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade in April 2010 as recognition of our strong international growth in recent years.
