Rukwa Coalfield Update
Muze Deposit - Geological Mapping and Additional Sampling Results
Edenville Energy plc (AIM:EDL), the coal focused African energy exploration and development company, is pleased to announce an update on geological reconnaissance and the results of additional grab samples collected on the Muze Deposit. Muze, together with Mkomolo and Namwele, comprise the three known coal-bearing basins of the Rukwa Coalfield of south-western Tanzania, currently being evaluated by Edenville.
Muze lies approximately 10 kilometres east of the Mkomolo and Namwele deposits, where drilling is in progress to expand and upgrade the April 2012 Mkomolo resource estimate of 39 million tonnes. The Muze Deposit has a historical, non-JORC compliant resource of 60 million tonnes and initial drilling is scheduled upon completion of geological mapping and surface sampling of the coal seams and the surrounding rocks.
Initial reconnaissance level geological mapping (1:5,000 scale) has outlined zones of coal and carboniferous shales within an initial 1,500 x 1,000m block of the Karoo-aged sediments. A series of stacked carbonaceous mudstone and coal units up to 5 metres in thickness over a zone 750m in width and a strike length of 500m has been observed. Outcrop in the area is poor, generally limited to stream sections. The units trend northeast to southwest and on average dip 20° (values from 13° to 25°) to the northwest. Work continues to expand the area of mapping in order to increase the strike length and to confirm the local stratigraphy to allow delineation of principle targets for the planned drilling programme.
Grab samples from Muze were submitted and analysed for raw coal quality by the Alfred H Knight Laboratory, Ayrshire, an internationally accredited coal analysis laboratory in Scotland.
The results are in line with previous sampling and indicate similarities to coal identified at the Mkomolo and Namwele deposits, which are classed as sub-bituminous coal, which, once processed, is suitable for thermal power generation.

In accordance with the AIM Rules, the information in this announcement has been reviewed by Mark Pryor, Managing Director of Edenville Energy PLC, a qualified geologist with over 25 years' experience.
Commenting today Simon Rollason, Chairman of Edenville, said; "The additional information being generated on the Muze Deposit is very encouraging and allows us to plan our work programme over the field season in more detail. Steady progress is being made on the coalfield with drilling in progress at Mkomolo, down-hole geophysics being conducted on selected drillholes and advances in understanding the geology at Muze. We are confident that the Rukwa Coalfield will continue to grow and develop into an asset that will deliver value to our shareholders. We look forward to updating our shareholders when results become available."
