Trading update
Messaging International Plc (AIM:MES), a provider of converged messaging products and services announces that one of its large mobile customers has informed the Company that it will terminate the Text to Landline Service provided by TeleMessage, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, effective 22 March 2016. The foregone revenues from this customer represent approximately £230,000 in the Company's 2016 financial year, but due to direct and other envisaged cost savings, will have a more moderate impact on the bottom line.
Approved R&D project from the Office of the Chief Scientist
TeleMessage is pleased to announce that the Office of the Chief Scientist of Israel's Ministry of Economy has approved a conditional grant for up to US$300,000 in respect of a year long R&D project in which some innovative features will be added to its secure mobile messaging applications.
General Trading
Whilst the Company has seen revenues and profitability of its traditional messaging solutions decline, it is pleased with growth in the number of customers of these traditional services (delivery of SMS, MMS, Voice, Fax and Email solutions).
In addition, the Company has recently secured a number of customers for its new Secure Mobile Messaging Solutions while also answering a number of Request for Proposals. The Board continues to believe that "Secure Mobile Messaging for Enterprises" is a very large market and the business is positioned to benefit from this.
