Change to Board of Directors

Mr. Gary Iceton has indicated his wish to resign from the Board of St Ives plc
in order to devote more time to his private interests.  The effective date of
his resignation is 31 July, 2000 and in the meantime he will continue as
Chairman and Managing Director of Clays Ltd, St Ives' Book Division.

This notification is made pursuant to Paragraphs 16.7 and 16.8 of the Listing
Rules.
