                              St Ives plc - Board Appointment

The Board of St Ives plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick
Martell as an executive director of the Company with immediate effect.

Patrick Martell joined Clays, St. Ives' business serving book publishing 
customers, in 1980.  He has been its Managing Director since 2000 and prior to
that was a director of the company for seven years, holding positions as 
Business Systems Director and subsequently Manufacturing Director.  He has also
held senior management positions in customer service and support.
