Board Changes
The Board of Smart Metering Systems plc (AIM: SMS.L), the integrated metering services company that connects, owns, operates and maintains current generation and new advanced metering assets and databases, is pleased to announce the appointment of Graeme Bissett as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.
Graeme (58) is an experienced corporate financier and qualified chartered accountant, having previously been a partner with Arthur Andersen LLP and finance director of a number of international groups. He is currently appointed as the Chairman of Macfarlane Group PLC and Curo Compensation Limited and as a Non-Executive Director of a number of other businesses, including Cruden Group Limited, Scottish Futures Trust Limited and Anderson Strathern LLP. He has also served on the boards of a number of other companies, including Interbulk plc, and Black Circles Holdings Ltd and currently undertakes a number of pro bono appointments, including Chairman at 'Children 1st', Scotland's national children's welfare charity, and as a Member of Court at the University of Glasgow.
Graeme will be appointed as Chair of the Company's Audit Committee and Miriam Greenwood, who currently chairs the Audit Committee, will be appointed as the Company's Senior Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Company's Remuneration Committee, in each case with immediate effect.

The Company provides a fully integrated service from beginning to end to cover the installation of a gas/electricity supply/connection to the procurement, installation and management of a gas or electricity meter asset to the collection and management of customer data and ongoing energy management services.
