Dealing by Directors in Ordinary shares of Smith & Nephew plc
We have been notified 7 June 2000 that the following directors of the Company
have increased their beneficial holdings of Ordinary shares of 10 pence each
in Smith & Nephew plc, through the Dividend Re-investment Plan for the 1999
Final Dividend paid on 2 June 2000 as follows, each share was purchased at 188
pence:
Mr C J O'Donnell acquired 390 shares and now holds 19,880 shares representing
0.0018% of the issued Ordinary share capital.
Dr Nancy J Lane acquired 62 shares and now holds 2,996 shares representing
0.0003% of the issued share capital.
Dr Rolf Stomberg acquired 21 Shares and now holds 1056 shares representing
0.0001% of the issued share capital.
Sir Timothy Lankester acquired 56 shares through the Dividend Re-investment
Plan and 70 shares by re-investment of the dividend through a
non-discretionary single company PEP at a price of 195 pence each.
Additionally 38 shares were acquired on 9 June 1999 at 182p and 23 at 201.5p
on 9 December 1999 by re-investment of dividends through a non-discretionary
single company PEP. He now holds 6,576 shares representing 0.0006% of the
issued share capital.
