Smiths Industries appoints Julian Horn-Smith
as a non-executive director
Smiths Industries plc today appointed Julian Horn-Smith to the Board as a
non-executive director. Mr Horn-Smith is the Chief Executive of Vodafone
AirTouch International Limited and an executive director of Vodafone AirTouch
plc.
He joins five existing non-executive directors on the Board of Smiths
Industries, of which Keith Orrell-Jones is Chairman and Keith
Butler-Wheelhouse is Chief Executive.
Mr Horn-Smith, 51, is a UK citizen and lives in Gloucestershire. He joined
Vodafone in 1984 and assumed his present role there in 1999. He holds a number
of other directorships with companies closely related to Vodafone.
Smiths Industries is a world leader in advanced electronic and electrical
systems for the aerospace industry; single-use devices and critical care
equipment for the healthcare sector; and specialist products for the
interconnect and air handling markets.
