The Directors of Siam Investment Fund (the 'Fund') wish to announce the
following appointment to the Board of Directors of the Fund:

Mr. Martin Michael Adams, has been appointed as Director of the Fund effective
October 25, 2002. Mr. Adams, age 43, is currently Managing Director of Vietnam
Fund Management Co., a position he has held since 1991. In addition, he is the
investment manager of The Vietnam Fund and Beta Viet Nam Fund. He also serves as
the chairman of Mekong Capital, the manager of Mekong Enterprise Fund. Mr. Adams
has over 20 years' investment and international banking experience in emerging
markets. Since 1988, he has worked closely with companies throughout Asia in
making and realising private equity investments, and in establishing and raising
capital for investment funds and fund management companies. Previously, he spent
10 years in investment and international commercial banking with the Lloyds Bank
group in Asia and Europe. Mr. Adams received an M.A. in Economic Science from
the University of Aberdeen, UK in 1980. Mr. Adams is a British national.
