ANNOUNCEMENT - Availability 2023 Sustainability Report

 

Electrica Group informs its shareholders and investors about the fact that the 2023 Sustainability Report is available on Electrica's website, at: https://www.electrica.ro/en/category/nonfinancials-reporting/ and https://www.electrica.ro/en/investors/results-and-reports/sustainability-reports/.

Electrica Group's 2023 Sustainability Report has been prepared in accordance with the voluntary international reporting standard Global Reporting Initiative - GRI 2021, as well as with national legislation on non-financial reporting, including the Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) Orders No. 1938/2016 and No. 2844/2016.

The statement of Electrica's CEO, Alexandru Chirita: "For Electrica Group, 2023 was a year marked by numerous initiatives that had a positive impact on both society and the economy. By implementing environmental protection programs, education, and social engagement initiatives, we aimed to significantly contribute to our sustainability, social responsibility, and transparency goals.

It is worth mentioning the improvement in our ESG rating received from Sustainalytics, placing us in the medium risk category within our industry. This assessment recognizes our ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact and promote responsible practices. We remain committed to continuing on this path to contribute to the energy transition and the well-being of the communities we serve.

I thank everyone involved for their efforts and dedication. Together, we will continue to make a difference in society and in the energy sector."

Electrica Group, a leading integrated player in the energy sector, highlights through this eighth Sustainability Report its direct and indirect impact on the local and national economy. The report emphasizes Electrica's significant contribution to sustainable energy transition for all stakeholders, as well as its environmental protection, education, and social engagement programs and initiatives implemented in 2023. Additionally, Electrica demonstrates its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility through the ESG rating received from Sustainalytics, which is included in this report. According to this evaluation, the parent-company, Electrica, has an ESG Risk Rating of 27.8, being classified as having a medium risk and positioning Electrica at 277 out of 682 companies within the industry.
