SPECTRIS PLC
Acquisition of CAPSTONE TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
20 June 2016 - Spectris plc ("Spectris") (LSE: SXS), the productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls company, today announces that it has completed the acquisition of the software and associated assets of the privately-held US company Capstone Technology Corporation ("Capstone") for a consideration of $22.5 million.
Capstone is a leading provider of software solutions for process control optimization and decision support, serving multiple process industries, such as pulp and paper, chemicals, utilities, oil and gas and food and beverage. It comprises two key software platforms: the MACS software suite provides engineering services and software for advanced process control optimization, while dataPARC is a data historian, visualization and analytics software suite for operational decision support. Capstone will be integrated into Spectris' In-line Instrumentation segment. More information on Capstone can be found at http://www.capstonetechnology.com/.
Jo Hallas, Business Group Director, said: "Capstone is an excellent addition that extends our portfolio to include enhanced process control and decision support solutions. For example, the combination of Capstone's software tools with BTG's instruments will enable us to provide market leading solutions for process control and optimization across our global pulp, tissue and packaging markets, as well as into other process industries. This is in line with Spectris' strategy to grow by using our domain knowledge to provide solutions that use innovative combinations of instrumentation, software and services to enhance productivity and create greater value for our customers."
